At the end of each school year, we come together to celebrate our successes at our annual banquet. This evening holds much fun, camaraderie, and surprise for all our instrumental music families. The prestigious Scholar Musician Award is given at the banquet to ALL those who meet the following criteria throughout the year.
SCHOLAR MUSICIAN POLICY
Villa Park High School recognizes students performing in the Instrumental Music Program whose academic and music careers have been exemplary, whose personal standards and achievements are models to others, and who possess high levels of integrity, leadership, loyalty and musicianship.
Scholar Musicians will be determined using the following criteria:
1. Student Musicians must have a cumulative GPA 3.5 (weighted) to be recognized as a Scholar Musician by a certificate acknowledging their achievement (minimum of two
semesters of participating in qualifying ensembles* required).
scholar-musician2. The Top Scholar Musician will be the junior or senior student musician with the highest cumulative GPA (weighted) and he/she shall be recognized by a certificate and a patch (minimum two semesters of participation in qualifying ensembles* required).
* Qualifying Ensembles are: Color Guard, Concert Band, Drum & Bugle Corps, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Orchestra (Chamber or Symphonic)
