Notes to Parents & Students
At the end of each school year, we come together to celebrate our successes at our annual banquet. This evening holds much fun, camaraderie, and surprise for all our instrumental music families. The prestigious Scholar Musician Award is given at the banquet to ALL those who meet the following criteria throughout the year.
Professionalism
Whether we are in class, sectionals, games, or a Saturday competition, we are representing the Instrumental Music Program, Villa Park High School, the Orange Unified School District, and the City of Villa Park. It is vital that we maintain a positive code of conduct at all times. You may certainly enjoy yourself while always being polite to and respectful of those around you. Remember that the words "please" and "thank you" will work wonders.
All adults should be treated with respect. This includes your directors, parents, volunteers, chaperones, audience, and anyone else we see, whether they know us or not. We always want to leave people with the best possible impression of us--both on and off the field.
It is important for you AND your student to be fully informed of our program activities. While we make every effort possible to avoid changes, it does happen at times.
There are four ways we will work to keep you fully informed:
1) Student updates in class from Major Jay -- classroom schedule at back of room, over classroom door, handouts and student notices on whiteboard in front of room.
2) Students should check these boards often!
3) Attend our monthly Booster Meetings -- everyone is invited!
4) Family updates occur online via the email address you provide us -- if you have more than one household that needs email notification, please provide emails for BOTH households as well as your student's email.
