These bottles and cans might be what's left over from your summer family reunion, or maybe after the first week of band camp, or maybe your baseball tailgate backyard BBQ. No, this is not a pile of trash but a pile of money -- can't you see it (some of it is green)? This heap is not something you would want to keep, though, so cash it in and then donate to the VPHS IM program.
Living in the OC, we are fortunate to be able to take advantage of the great cash rates for recyling plastic bottles and aluminum cans. For families, friends, and alumni of Villa Park High School Instrumental Music Program, you can set aside all your recycled items as a regular monthly or occasional donation to the program. With just 4 x trashbags full of recycled cans, you can get about $20 cash. Click here and print the coupon at this link for the best rate, make sure the coupon is not expired, and take to a local recycling center (most will honor this).
If 5 families do this in one month, that's $100. If those 5 families do this for one year, that's $1,200 to the band!!!! If 10 families do this for a year, that's $2,400.00! I don't think you read that last number correctly --- T w o - T h o u s a n d - F o u r - H u n d r e d - D o l l a r s --- are you seeing more green from this pile now? If all 140 band families committed to contributing their reyclables for one year, that would be over $33,000 in one year !!
OK, 'nuff said ...............so...............what are you waiting for? Please help our community, the environment, but most importantly help the VPHS Instrumental Music program by setting aside one container in your house or workplace for plastics and aluminum cans today!

The Instrumental Music program at Villa Park High School is proud to include a dynamic, innovative, imaginative and exciting Color Guard program. Performing throughout the year, the Guard adds visual excitement and dance interpretation to the music of the Marchin' Spartans. By incorporating rifles, flags, scarves and dance, the Color Guard compliments the Marchin' Spartans as a visual effect in field shows and parades. During the spring semester, the Guard perfects and performs an independent competitive routine that showcases their equipment execution and dance skills. Detailed choreography highlights the Color Guard component of the program and adds substantially to the total perrformance package.
The Marchin' Spartans have long been considered one of the most visible and respected representatives of our campus. Performing throughout the Southland for thousands of people every year, the marching arts are well represented by the Marchin' Spartans and Color Guard and the Marchin' Spartan Drum and Bugle Corps.
